The 'toddler bed' transition I would try to wait for still, he's still a peanut. My sister accepted it with my nephew and just always layered massive pillows all around and some days he'd jump out others not a peep.

I dunno, I kinda vote look into tents...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7726108441348262210.post-2091667385946236662009-06-26T19:10:54.263-04:002009-06-26T19:10:54.263-04:00I agree with you about your LM being too young for...I agree with you about your LM being too young for a bed. My son is the same age, and there is NO WAY I would dare put him in a toddler bed right now! :)

Not sure what kind of crib you have, but when my LM started to attempt to fling himself out, we simply turned the crib around! We have a Bonavita Lifestyle Crib - Sheffield, and we put the high side facing out (the part that is normally against the wall). It looks really silly, but he hasn't attempted to climb out again! It's simply too high in the front now! Here is a pic... http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e97/kellyf2626/CIMG2348.jpg

Also - my son still sleeps in a Halo Sleepsack (size XL). He can still walk around the crib, but can't lift up a leg to climb out. That seems to be keeping him in there too!!

Good luck! :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7726108441348262210.post-45783333026610760382009-06-26T18:59:56.784-04:002009-06-26T18:59:56.784-04:00LM may be ready for a bed! That was the case for my daughter. She climbed/fell out once when she was about 18 months. We put her in a bed just after she turned two. My son (2) loves his crib. Shows no interest in a bed yet.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7726108441348262210.post-31050002201518704882009-06-26T16:19:01.183-04:002009-06-26T16:19:01.183-04:00Those crib tents are not a good idea. There was a local story recently about a house-fire and it took the firemen much longer to get the babies out of their cribs due to those tents... not worth taking that chance.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7726108441348262210.post-46787507760521690712009-06-26T15:45:02.146-04:002009-06-26T15:45:02.146-04:00Grams is right - sounds like your guy is ahead of ...Grams is right - sounds like your guy is ahead of the curve on this one and will be safer in a toddler bed. A close friend's daughter recently had the same mishap; unfortunately she broke her femur and is in a cast for 6 weeks. So I say don't take any chances. By the way, your blog and little and so cute! They called it a tent and he loved it and never even tried to get out! Totally bought her a little more time. I could have sworn she said she bought it at Toys R Us, but can't find it on the site...I did a quick google search and found this: http://www.nextag.com/baby-crib-net/shop-html

I'm sure she said hers was less than $50...anyhow, know it exists out there somewhere!

ps Totally agree re: Michael Jackson

xo
AllyAlly Whttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10545002619683747589noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7726108441348262210.post-56180478046110958522009-06-26T14:47:12.901-04:002009-06-26T14:47:12.901-04:00First of all, I completely agree with you about Mi...First of all, I completely agree with you about Michael Jackson. Whatever he was or did, I don't think he warranted this kind of media frenzy. There was absolutely no mention in today's news of international crises such as North Korea aiming missiles at Hawaii and the human rights struggle in Iran. Crazy.

Second, now that your little man has climbed out of the crib, he's not going to stay in it. He now knows he can get out and he'll overcome the fear of falling soon. You'll have to start thinking about a toddler bed soon or there will be more incidents like yesterday's. Sad but true ... they grow up so fast.Vicki @ Grams Made Ithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14830960886130900689noreply@blogger.com
