Hello Gorgeous.

Yesterday was the much anticipated Christian Louboutin sale on Gilt. Despite some massive technical failures from their site, I was still able to walk away the proud new owner of the Bretelle Strappy Sandal at a pretty reasonable price. I think these babies are pretty timeless and overall were a great buy. Yay Gilt, you've done it again!

April 8!

Oh No They Didn't!

Ahhhhh but they did. The geniuses over at Christian Louboutin have found way to one up the Petal Louboutins with none other than the Carnaval!

 

I know you are speechless. This is exactly how I felt when I opened my email and saw what my good friend the Missus had emailed me last night. At 1600 + dollars the Husband would never OK these but I can guarantee that these bad boys will one day be on sale and this Yummy Mummy will do everything in her power to beg, borrow, and steal to make them mine. 

Seriously, these babies are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Oh Missus, you tempt me so.

A Shoe Dilemma.

I am so torn. I just can't decide if I should get the Pink Petal Louboutins. I clearly want them. I just can't decide if I actually need them (I use that term extremely loosely here). I thought if I actually looked at my shoe collection as a whole then maybe I could make up my mind, but alas I am still at a loss. 

Now I have never been one to think it important or necessary to amass a large shoe collection. Like the rest of my wardrobe I try to buy "pieces" that can be worn a number of different ways and I try to buy high enough quality items that I will continue to love them for their every wear. 

Here is my current "collection."*

1. White converse sneakers (my everyday shoes)
2. Hunter wellies (an absolute necessity for this New England winter)
3. Brown Coach riding boots (my favorite purchase from last fall)
4. Bronze haviana flip flops.
5. Mystique turquoise sandals.
6. Michael Kors gladiator heels.
7. Marc by Marc Jacobs black patent leather platform heels.
8. My Christian Louboutins (oh I still love them)
9. Black Tory Burch flats.
10. Steve Madden leopard print flats (I never wear them but they are too cute to toss). 
11. Not pictured (by accident) a silver pair of Jimmy Choos on loan from my sister in law. 

So that's it. Looking at these now I can see that I clearly need a pair of black leather flat boots. I also definitely need those gladiator sandals that are somewhere in Kansas right now, but do I need the Louies? 

I can't make up my mind. So I need some swaying. I'm going to put up a poll so you can let me know what you think. 

Yes, I don't need them (again I use that term loosely) but I still really really want them. Help me!

* Missing are the new Sam Edelson black/white snakeskin gladiator flats which are still in route, and my gym and tennis (for actual tennis) shoes which were not worthy of being in the same photograph as the former Louboutins. 

Anniversary Weekend Recap.

Whew. This was quite the weekend for the Yummy Mummy. All of the anniversary celebrations have left me a little hung over and a lot tired! Despite that it was a great weekend!

Friday night our very good friends came over for dinner. We celebrated with raclette, a Swiss dinner (I think I have mentioned before that The Husband is a swissie?) that involves cheese and potatoes. An excellent combination. Throw in a few bottles of wine and a great night was had by all. 

Here is a picture of the table. Including the "grill" used to make the dinner. We were supposed to follow up the night with some chocolate fondue but after the 5000 calories we each consumed no one was interested in anything other than their bed.

Saturday was our big date night. We had quite the plan. We were going to go to Upstairs on the Square for drinks. Harvest for dinner, and L.A. Burdick for desert. Given the blizzard that was expected to begin at the same time we were exiting our house this was quite ambitious. 

We arrived to Upstairs on the Square only to find that the bar was closed for a private party (can they do that?) I was fairly annoyed, but given the sub zero temps we decided to get a before dinner drink over at Harvest where we were having dinner. This ended up being the best call of the night as it started snowing as soon as we began our short walk. 

Harvest was great. I really liked the bar. The only thing that turned me off was that there were two flat screen TVs showing football. Kind of ruined the mood, but I get that it is playoff season so what can you do? Dinner was excellent. We were seated by the fire and everything was divine. We started with a dozen oysters. I had the Rib Eye and The Husband had the Hake. We drank we laughed and at one point The Husband leaned over and said that if I really wanted the Louboutins, then they are mine. Um hello, did I not mention I MUST HAVE THEM? So yes, honey I will be ordering them as soon as I finish this post and yes, this was the high point of the evening.

We then decided to head over to L.A. Burdick arriving at 9:59pm. You guessed it. They close at 10 so we were SOL. We then cruised over to Whole Foods through some pretty heavy snow in search of a cupcake and alas they were closed too. Luckily our neighbors were having a party downstairs so I popped by for a glass of wine and found some cookies (did I ever mention how much I love dessert?) 

All and all it was a great weekend. I was very impressed with my outfit that I pulled together at the last minute. So impressed that I had The Husband take some pics for you all to see.

I love this La Rok jacket. I usually wear it with jeans, but I thought the tuxedo look went well with the ensemb.

It's hard to see but the shoes are patent leather round toe platforms (Marc by Marc Jacobs.) They looked great but were very slippery as we ran all over town.

Thanks for all your anniversary wishes. I'm off to a much needed nap.

Hello Lover.

I know what I MUST have for my 30th birthday.

Seriously, MUST HAVE. 

The Missus posted a picture of this work of art last week on her blog and I cannot get them out of my head. 

I MUST have them. I repeat I HAVE to have them. 

The Husband gave me a solid "maybe."

This is a very good sign. Maybe almost always turns into, "hello, did you see my amazing new shoes?"

Yes, I know I got a new pair of Louies for my birthday last year, but again, I MUST HAVE THEM. 

To any family member out there I repeat. I MUST HAVE THESE. Any and all contributions would be greatly appreciated. 

Just in case there is any doubt. I MUST HAVE THESE. I absolutely refuse to get another year older without them.

I love shoes. Not so much in a Carrie Bradshaw sort of way. I mean really, who is going to run through the streets of Manhattan in an ankle boot with a six inch heel, in the snow, in their pajamas, on new years eve? Beyond the comfort issue, what mom is even up at midnight??? Ok, I digress....clearly I am also a fan of the sex in the city movie (hereinafter referred to as "Best Movie Ever").
