After a ridiculously fun filled weekend, we all are trying to catch up on some sleep. Dare I tell you that everyone in our house was in bed by 8:30 last night? Man, did that feel good. This week, the hubby and I have more... and more... and more independent school interviews for the LM. I hate to say it, but I really am enjoying seeing inside some of these institutions. Most are bigger (and better) than the college I went to, so there is no question that the LM will get a great education.Yet, it's hard not to get attached to ALL of them, just in case we don't get in. Right now we are leaning towards a same sex education, but in the spring it will really come down to where there are open spots. So, it continues...

Here is a little bit of what we were up to last week.

Mondays always come too soon, don't they?

Weekend Links.

Friday, October 12, 2012

What are you all up to this weekend? My entire family is heading down to my best friend's Cape house for the Wellfleet Oysterfest. Considering that they are my favorite food, I for one, could not be more excited. Back at the homestead we will be lazying around by the fireplace, swimming in the 90 degree outdoor pool (I know, right?) and consuming copious amounts of wine, and mixing up beignets for breakfast. Yes, it will be the perfect weekend! I hope you all have something fun planned! Here are a few links from around the web to kick off your weekend.

Kate Moss in glasses. See, even a supermodel looks cooler wearing them.

Now that is what I call style.

Cheveron pumpkins. I'm totally doing this!

I know it's a bit early, but how cute are these owl twinkle lights? I just got a string for our tree!

I used to think we are playing good cop, bad cop, but after reading this article, I've realized this is just how my husband likes to parent. I love him even more for it.

I know I said I would NEVER wear clogs, but these boots are fierce. I am in love.

I think I have watched this interview about 10,000 times. Jenna Lyons is the real deal.

I just painted my bathroom this color,  and it turned out better than I could have imagined. I kind of want to sleep in there now.

I'm saving my hand this year, and getting this for our Christmas cards. Genius!

Finally, this is how I feel about politics + Facebook. Is it almost over?

Oeuf 2012 Fall Collection.

Thursday, October 11, 2012

Have you all seen the amazingness that is Oeuf's 2012 Fall collection? I honestly don't even know where to begin, every piece is cuter than the one before! I know their clothes are pricey, even by French standards, but the quality is as good as it gets, and I think these clothes make the perfect gift for those "special" occasions... new baby, Christmas, etc. I mean, c'mon, this is cuteness overload. These guys are killing me!

This hat, has the LM's name ALL over it.

... and you know that Santa will be bringing this for baby boy!

Man, this almost has me ready for winter. Almost.

Glasses... All The Cool Kids Are Wearing Them.

Wednesday, October 10, 2012

I know I'm a bit partial, as a daily glasses wearer, but I don't think there is one thing that ups the cool quotient to any outfit, more than a good pair of glasses. From black tie, to a T-shit and cutoffs, I find that a good pair of chunky frames is the fastest way to 1) get a compliment, 2) look smarter, and 3) add instant style. This is why I was so psyched to find this website, that scours the internet for places to buy cheap (read awesome) glasses for 99 and below. Since I want about 10,000 pairs, I have a feeling this could come in handy! If you have one in your town, you should also check out SEE Eyewear. They always have great deals on frames, and lenses are forever included! This is my go-to for glasses in the Boston area. As I said, glasses = cool.

Now, go forth and get your geek on!

Chile Or Bust.

Tuesday, October 9, 2012

The husband and I, are in the process of planning our annual romantical surf trip/ getaway from the kids... and this year I think we are going to Chile! I am so excited, because I have never been anywhere like this before. Our past trips were Maui, Fiji, and Paris... places that I could picture ahead of time, but Chile, well, I have absolutely no idea what to expect! I hear the water is cold (con) but the entire coastline looks like Northern California one hundred years ago (major pro) and other than that, I don't know anything! So, here is where you all come in. Has anyone been? Know anyone who's been? Any information would be greatly appreciated (and, of course, shared in return.) We are thinking of a guided tour through the southern coast, but we can't find any reviews online, so we really are going in to this blind. Our trip is slotted for late Jan/ early Feb (which is their Summer) and I know I'll be able to find some good wine ;) so all will not be lost, but eek... I think we may be in for a real adventure!

More details to come!

Hope you are having a great, long weekend. The little man and I are off to fight the crowds at Ikea, today. May the force be with us...
