Weekend Links.

In the Spring, I had this great idea. I was going to spend the Summer traveling with my two boys in tow, all the while penning a daily blog of life and our adventures.  Clearly, the first part of that plan worked, and the second fizzled, without even a bang.  Over the last few months, we spent 4 weeks in Costa Rica, cumulatively 2 weeks on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and 2 weeks in California.  In between we took three trips to Cape Cod, and a weekend jaunt to NYC.  In total I spent 8 days in my  of the last 10 weeks in my own bed, and while we had a Summer to remember, the last thing I could even think about was formulating a proper blog post.  Isn't that the way Summer sometimes goes? Big plans are traded for naps, and when you are within a mile from a body of water, and the sun is shining, the idea of being inside for even a minute seems insufferable. Well, school has officially started and despite the 90F temps today, Fall is on it's way. I think it's high time I get back here and I figured there is no better way to come back, then with some of my favorite links from the past month. I hope you all had a wonderful Summer! I've missed you!

It's all about perspective. I have to say this is the best thing I read all Summer.

Is Law School worth the money? I get this question a lot and my answer is always NO! Before you go, or send your kids, you must read this article. I found it to be right on, and very much my experience. I was lucky enough to get my dream job right out (which was low paying) but this was/ is the experience for many of my peers.

Jenna Lyons' beauty routine. (You all know I've read this about 20 times by now!) Love her!

Admit it, you did not wake up like this!

Right now I'm LOVING this nail polish color.

My kids live in Vans, and I hate to admit my 7 year old can't tie his shoes! This has to be the easiest method I've ever seen!

My 25 year old sister barely remembers life before the Internet. Isn't that crazy!?!? What it feels like to be the last generation that does.

Why texting has killed having actual plans.

Breakfast salad? Genius! I love the bagel at the bottom and have been having some version of this every day since I read this post!

A tale of two 9 -year -olds. I know I am about as anti-gun as they come, but I find the idea of putting an Uzi in the hands of a 9 year old to be the most insane thing I have ever heard. Is this really what we have come to as a gun loving society? How can a parent make that choice, and not be able to choose when their child is allowed to play at the park alone? Mind boggling.

My #1 purchase for Fall.

Obsessed with this T-shirt!

This little sleeper sofa would be great in a small space (especially a nursery) and really, you can't beat that price!

Vans came out partnered with Star Wars for a new line! You know this is what my boys are wearing back to school this year!

Finally, I'm pretty much copying this look every. single. day. when the weather gets cooler (which I sadly think will be any day now!)

With that, all I can say is I'm back! Gray starts school on Wednesday, and for the first time in over 7 years, I am going to have about 2.5 hours a day to myself!  Pinch me!  I plan on posting at least 3-4 times a week going forward, so I hope you'll be checking back in!

Happy September!
