As If I Didn't Have Enough Pressure.

As if I didn't have enough pressure to make baby number 2 a reality, the little man has now joined the cause.

Last Friday we met a little girl at the park who had a baby brother. She was very proud of the little guy and kept showing him to my Little Man. After a few minutes my LM came up and declared, very matter-of -factly:
"I want baby brother."

"Um, okay," I replied.

"I want one!" he excitedly yelled.

"Working on it bud," was about all I could come up with.

"I want brother, I want brother, I want brother!"

"You and me both kid, you and me both. "

Since the stork forgot to drop off a new brother for the LM, for now we are settling for his "baby" which he has named "Daddy." As an aside he likes to be called "Mommy" when he is holding the baby. Yep, confusing at best.

Here he is getting "Daddy" ready for bed.

That is just precious and he named it Daddy. My kids are also obsessed with Dad. Dylan says "My Daddy trucks, my daddy trucks". Over and over. I had a similar experience although we are not ttc I still have the fever. Sami pointed to my tummy and said, "No baby, no baby". Yeah I got that!

It is nice to see that I don't have the only two year old boy who likes to play with baby dolls. Of course mine also enjoys makeup, heels, bangles and pink!

Back when my middle child was 3yrs old we were waiting for his bio sibling to be born (my children are adopted). We only had two months to get everything prepared. So the first month the hubby and I enjoyed keeping it between us and then the next month we shared it with the kids. I bought my son a baby doll. My husband couldn't believe I bought him a doll. I let him put it in the pack n play, swing, bouncer, etc. We would sit on the couch and pretend we were feeding our baby and it really was useful time I could teach Brady how to be gentle and loving towards something so small. Then when Ben was born Brady had no interest in messing with any of the new baby equipment. He was also very gentle with Ben and I think I owe it to that doll!!! So good job Mama!!! Whether it be preparing them for a sibling or just how to be kind/gentle towards someone elses baby, it needs to learned! -kriss

So sweet of LM! My son wished so much to have a brother that he used to put it as first "item" on his Father Xmas' list! Now he's got a sister he wishes he could send her back!!!! Ciao. A.
