All of you know that decorating my home is a constant source of anxiety for me. Up until now my living room was such a snooze. Well, not anymore! Our new rug has finally arrived and I must admit that while I didn't immediately love it, I have very much grown to appreciate what it adds to our space. One word, character.
People who enter our home have either loved or hated it. Either way I think it makes clear what type of home we have (fun) and what type of people we are (a little quirky.) I added in some basic cream accessories, some framed pictures of the Little Man, our new light fixture, and some cool modern place mats. Say what you will, but you can't say it's boring. It just goes to show that when it comes to decorating, a little really does go a long way.
There is plenty more to do in here, but for now I think I am going to live in the space until the next bit of inspiration hits.

So funny, I just got the same runner as your place mats!! Love the new little touches!
OOh yes, definitely gives some va-va-voom. I've tried to do a similar thing with a sofa, but haven't quite succeeded in getting it all to match up quite so effectively. Especially with a five-foot wigwam sitting next to it. The latter isn't a permanent fixture, but the children don't seem to have read that bit. Your sitting room looks calm, but quirky - would love to be sitting there reading Cookie (OH NO...!)

It looks great, lots of fun and some great accessorising. enjoy your space. Its always fulfilling when you finally feel a room is complete.
