Oh, That's All?

According to a trainer at my gym there is only one thing standing in between me and this body. Ummmmm.....sign me up!

A few weeks back I had to miss my usual spin class due to a doctor's appointment so I was forced to use the gym equipment. Other than the treadmill I hate all gym equipment (including weights). I never feel as though I get that great of a workout and the truth is that I'm a bit scared of some of those crazy contraptions. This is why I stick to yoga, spin, and running. Only yoga, spin, and running. Sensing my dismay a trainer approached me and asked if I needed any help. "Yes!" was my immediate reply. When he asked what my goals were I simply told him, "by the time I am 40 I want my body to look exactly like Jennifer Aniston's did on the cover of this Summer's GQ. "Oh, is that all?" he sarcastically replied. "Yep, that's my goal, I have 10 years and one more baby to make it happen," I matter-of-factly told him. He said there was only ONE thing standing in the way of me and that butt. One torturous, painful, and demonic thing. The stairmaster. Not just any stairmaster, the giant stairmaster on crack.

Doesn't look that painful? Try climbing 2oo flights on it in about 30 minutes. Ouch! I have worked this into my Monday routine, and let me tell you that on Sunday I still am in pain. Legs, butt, abs, you name it I feel as though it has been hit by a truck. Hey, that just means it's working right?

Jennifer you better watch out...I'm coming for you!

I've always been intimidated by that thing. Did you have to do it really fast to get the "I've been hit by a truck" result? I'm not the most coordinated girl and am kind of afraid I'll fall off.

Did he say how often and for how long you had to do it? I have done the stairmill a handful of times and yes it really kicks you in the butt!

don't fear it! I love it. Best thing ever. I even did it until the day I had my second baby. My legs are like steel.

It kind of looks like she has implants (I could use a couple too). Good idea about that stair stepper when I see people on it at my gym they look miserable so it must be good. I just started yoga and I love it.

I don't think you have to go super fast. I started on a level 5 which is pretty slow and three weeks later I'm at a 10. I am not the most coordinated person and I actually like it a bit faster. He said do this once or twice a week and in a few months I should see some serious lifting of the tush. I do it for a 1/2 hour after that I can't take anymore! I can't imagine doing this pregnant but am not inspired by you Sasha!!

Well I for one think you're way hotter than Jen Aniston.. and I'm cracking up over hear thinking about how you must have looked taking that pic at the gym of the giant monster you were about to climb (literally) hahahaha

JQ, you just moved to the TOP of my best friend list ;). Yeah, I think some of the people at Equinox were thinking that I may have lost my mind or maybe looking to sue for pain and suffering!

OMG HA! Wow, I have often paced back and forth behind this machine, but have never had the guts to step onto it, but hey, if that's ALL that's standing between me and Jennifer Aniston, bring it on... HAHAHA! Hmm, somehow I think the guy would have given me a different response... ;) And unlike the gal who did this till she delivered her baby, I think I'll wait to add it into my repertoire till after my baby arrives in the next 2 months. :) Ha! Thanks, YM!

Hello, I normally lurk but I couldn't resist leaving a comment. Do look out for your knees especially on the "stairmaster"! I was a former athlete, and my coach kept making us go up stairs up down up down kneelifts squats what not, and after 1 year plus my knees gave way. I was only 14 when my kneecaps went out of alignment. Right now I'm 16 and I'm undergoing physiotherapy. Just do take care of your knees and don't overdo it!
